The identity of Sweet Crowns Co. is rooted in both a need and insight that was untapped when our designer and founder, Dana Reed was on maternity leave with her oldest daughter, Bellamy. Being a natural hair enthusiast herself and now having a curly-head baby girl [with locks for days] she was desperate for a solution to not only protect Bellamys’ hair, but to preserve it as well given the many different surfaces babies' heads touch. After many nights using a spare satin pillowcase on the bed sheet for Bellamy during night nursing; Dana got a sketch book, a measuring tape and got to work!  The inspiration of course comes from satin bonnets and silk pillowcases being staple products for women, and she wanted that same level of confidence and benefit for her baby.  

One thing for sure, two things for certain, a mama on a mission will lead to a proven outcome, okay! Dana took her professional marketing hat and designed a full suite of products that cater to protecting babies and children's hair while sleeping - at home or on-the-go. 

She studied, researched and tested numerous forms of silk/satin textiles until getting the right effect that would elevate her designs.
